Practice chanter
The piping journey does not start on a set of pipes. It starts with a practice chanter, depicted in the image above. We practice technique and learn new tunes on a practice chanter. It's typically not until the music can be played well on the practice chanter before it is moved over to the Great Highland Bagpipes.
Drums
Alongside the pipers, we have a skilled drum corps. If you already are a drummer and want to learn Highland Drumming, or is completely new, you are welcome to join us!
Prior musical knowledge
It is always good to start with some sort of musical knowledge, for example reading notes. The Highland Bagpipes are a very hard instrument to play, with a steep learning curve. But once the initial slope has been overcome, great opportunities await!
